This entire piece is very well excuted! Absolutely gorgeous!
The blurring helps to center in on the subject, which is a nice effect. I love how as the mud slings outward it slowly fades into blurr. Some would express that a total background blurr would be too much, but here I really think it works. The mane, tail, and the splashed mud gives the artwork a sense of forward motion. It really gives the subject a confident feel, as if the horse is pressing forward into the oncoming storm in which the background conveys. The flow of the mane and tail really improves upon the stormy atmosphere. I think you accomplished this flawlessly. Truly beautiful! Well done!
